‘Jigyasa: Knowledge for Life – Bridging Knowledge and Digital Gaps at School Level’ covers select schools in the Hindi-speaking states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The project is building the capacity of teachers in elementary schools by leveraging digital technologies to enrich their knowledge base and pedagogy. With the support of Vodafone Foundation from 2019 till date, Jigyasa has reached out to 28,058 teachers. 4906 digital learning materials were created by the teachers.
These digital resources ensured learning continuity despite the closure of schools during Covid-19. 428 scholarships were awarded to school-going students who were Covid deceased dependents. Jigyasa is setting up model schools by digitally equipping them with computers, CCTV cameras, projectors and other audio-visual instruments. MoUs with all five state education departments have been signed to ensure ownership and continuity of the initiatives by the government.
The project has achieved noteworthy milestones, as a result of which Vodafone Foundation has awarded cash prizes to teachers and students who have performed exceptionally well.
